Building Brighter Futures: Supporting the Launch of Morrow Discovery Center

I’m thrilled to share an update about one of my current projects that’s especially close to my heart. I’ve been working with the newly formed Morrow Discovery Center (MDC) — a nonprofit children’s museum dedicated to supporting children and families learn, play, and grow through hands-on experiences and community connections.

As a founding board member and rural health consultant, I’ve been honored to support Morrow Discovery Center pro bono during this critical startup phase. My work so far has focused on nonprofit formation, strategic planning, budget preparation, grant writing, and marketing — all essential building blocks for long-term success.

Thanks to the generous support of our community partners — Eastern Oregon Coordinated Care Organization, Amazon, Blue Mountain Early Learning Hub, and Umatilla Morrow Head Start — Morrow Discovery Center will be able to offer free admission to all children and families.

We’re working diligently toward a summer 2025 opening, and the excitement is growing. From exhibit design to community outreach, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes — and I’m incredibly excited to be part of a project that will inspire creativity, connection, and lifelong learning for children across the region.

Stay tuned for more updates as we approach opening day (morrowdiscoverycenter.org) — and thank you to everyone who’s helping make this dream a reality!
